Authentic older vintage keris/kris in very good condition. It features a blade (pamor) of iron and nickel giving it the traditional distinct look of fluid like patterns on a partly wavy blade. Carved handle (hulu) appears to be horn. It also has a very nice brass scabbard (pendok) with filigree in excellent condition.
The kris is an important aspect of Javanese culture in Indonesia and surrounding regions. It’s an object of ceremonial power, and seen to posses magical powers, and often used as a symbol of status, heroism, and part of the equipment for court soldiers.
